Misty Newman was recruited by Scott Sladovnik in 2006 as a Practice Manager. During 2006, the team was part of a producer group and Misty’s responsibility was to streamline operations, evaluate the staff, reduce costs and develop a business plan. In 2007, W.I.T. Capital Management, llc was formed & Misty began adding high quality professionals that now focus in all aspects of the business.
Misty has remained the Business Manager and while involved in every aspect of the firm, several of her key responsibilities include: managing human resource related issues, management of company finances, general operations and strategic planning initiatives. With her extensive business experience, specifically in the financial industry, W.I.T. Capital has been able to exceed all growth objectives while maintaining a comprehensive and acute focus on our existing business responsibilities.
As a working mom, Misty understands firsthand the demands that everyday life places upon her in regards to family and finance. Assisting our clients and families achieve their financial goals as well as ensuring there is a legacy for generations to come is a focus of her professional dedication and goals.
A graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Finance, Misty also holds her professional licenses in State Life & Health and FINRA Series 7 & Series 66 registrations. For over 20 years, Scott has worked as a financial professional and is the founder of W.I.T. Capital Management. The foundation of the business was built along the premise of his favorite motto in life “You never really find yourself until you give yourself away”.
The concept of W.I.T. Capital Management is not to be everything to everyone, but instead we strive to be a trusted partner to a select few. One of the characteristics that Scott is most proud of is that every client can be traced back to the first. Building strong relationships, treating every client equally and treating every dollar as if it were his own is the philosophy Scott stands behind. He has always believed in “radical transparency” and being honest and frank, even when it’s uncomfortable.
Scott is involved in every aspect of the business; however his primary focus is investment strategy, risk analysis, asset management strategies, and business succession planning. He has dedicated his professional career to forming relationships with his clients and is grateful to have the opportunity to work with them.
Scott graduated from Creighton University and obtained The Wharton Certificate in Retirement Planning from the Wharton School of Business in 2006. Additional professional licenses attained include: State Life & Health, FINRA Series 7, 6, 63, 65 and 24 registrations.

Kylee Simon joined W.I.T. Capital Management in November of 2007 as a junior in college. She graduated from University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2009 with Finance & Banking degrees. Since joining W.I.T., Kylee has acquired the following registrations and licenses: Series 7, Series 66 & Life & Health.
As Marketing Director, Kylee was instrumental in developing and refining the W.I.T. Capital brand in 2009. She continues as the project lead on all decisions regarding the WIT Capital image, marketing and communication initiatives.
With a referral-only business, the vision for W.I.T. Capital focuses around our existing clients and expanding their experience with our firm. As the Client Relations Manager, Kylee sets the tone for the quality and character of our client relationships. We practice “Quality over Quantity” and focus on maintaining and continuously expanding our relationships as we grow our business.
Kylee is also the manager of our Estate Planning Strategies process. She is intricately involved with our clients and their families in coordinating key discussions with their attorneys regarding wealth transition and end of life decisions. Kylee works to identify client objectives and assists in developing strategies to meet their needs.

Karley is instrumental in the day-to-day operations and work flow of the business and handles all service and processing needs for our clients. In addition, she brings a depth of knowledge in Marketing and Advertising and assists with all branding and marketing initiatives.
Karley graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in May 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Mass Communication with a Major in Advertising and Public Relations. During her four years at UNL, she served on the Executive Board of her sorority and was selected to be an Account Executive for the student ran Advertising Ageny, Jacht.
Outside of work, Karley enjoys watching documentaries, attending concerts and traveling around the US visiting friends.

Lauren Brennan joined our team in 2019 after relocating to the US from Melbourne, Australia. As a dual citizen she lived abroad for 10 years then decided it was time to move back to the mid-west to be closer to her family.
Lauren is likely one of the first people you’ll talk with when you call or visit WIT Capital Management. With her extensive background and knowledge in administrative support, she is a crucial part of the processes at WIT and plays a key role in the scheduling and coordination of client meetings along with general clerical support for our team. She is continually building relationships with our clients and makes sure that everyone is taken care of in addition to having an enjoyable experience when meeting at our office.
Lauren’s passions lie with her love for animals, her interest in all things car related and most of all spending quality time with loved ones.

Nathan Beam joined W.I.T. Capital Management in June of 2020 after graduating from the University of Arkansas with complimenting bachelor’s degrees in both Finance and Accounting, as well as a minor in Economics. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations.
Nathan is involved in many aspects of W.I.T. with an emphasis in supporting retirement & education planning, life/disability/long-term care insurance modeling & analysis, as well as debt reduction strategies. Additionally, Nathan brings a comprehensive perspective on corporate fundamentals and macro-economic considerations and takes an active role in securities analysis, research, and portfolio modeling.
Building relationships is an important aspect of Nathan’s life and he strives to connect with people daily and finds joy in creating new and lasting relationships both personally and professionally.
Outside of work, Nathan enjoys going to sporting events, traveling domestically & internationally, and being with friends & family.
